We love house concerts!

We’ve performed in homes across the US and Europe and they are hands down our favorite shows to play.
Informal, intimate and SO memorable. This is live music at its best!

The basics

What is a house concert?

A house concert is a private concert usually hosted in someone’s home.

The host invites friends, co-workers, neighbors and family members and we show up at your door with all the instruments and equipment we need to perform.

Do I need a lot of space?

We request enough room to have at least 20 people attending your show. You can host indoors or outdoors, although outdoors can be a bit of a gamble with the weather. It’s great if you can provide seating for everyone but sometimes people get creative and ask their audience bring chairs, sit on the floor, steps, or stand on the sides when necessary.

What kind of atmosphere is needed?

House concerts are listening room environments and not house parties... in other words, the music is front and center. Socializing takes place before and after the show but during the performance the audience is seated and it creates an opportunity for audience members to really listen, ask questions and hear the stories behind the songs.

HOW MUCH DOES A HOUSE CONCERT COST?

There are a few different options but usually the host asks for a 'suggested donation' from each person attending. A range of $15 - 20 usually works well. People can give more or less depending on their situation and 100% of these donations go directly to the artist.

There is a minimum amount that we would like to leave with and that amount can vary depending on tour routing/travel costs. Contact us for more info on this!

What is the usual house concert format?

There are no hard and fast rules but most often guests will start arriving an hour before the show to socialize, share a potluck and get comfortable.

Most hosts opt for two 40 minute sets of music with a short intermission in between, but we are flexible. If it’s a weekday it might make sense to do one longer set.

Do I need to have strangers in my house?

No! It’s completely up to you who you invite. Most of the house concerts we’ve played have been private events for friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc.
