The Towne Crier

If you’re in the Hudson Valley area and a fan of live music you’ve most definitely heard of The Towne Crier Cafe.  Founded in 1972 it’s a Hudson Valley landmark, bringing world class folk, jazz and world music to the region. Lucky for us The Towne Crier just moved from its long-time home in Pawling to Beacon – a ten minute walk from our door.  The new venue is beautiful – and they even have a vegan-friendly menu.

We’ll be taking the stage on January 19th with Carla Springer and Open Door as part of the Towne Crier Songwriter’s Showcase – tickets are available here and you can find the facebook event page here. It’s going to be a great night of music!

I took some photos at a couple recent shows, enjoy 🙂

The reviews are in

…well, they’ve been in for a while I just forgot to post them here 🙂

“The Whispering Tree is almost eloquently attuned to their name. The songs seem natural and organic, and the vocals whisper and spur an uplifting nature to any listener…you have an obvious admiration for a band who sound so professional cleansed yet so elegantly constructed from a source of real soul.”  – The Levity Ball

“The deep-reaching sound of each and every song on this EP is mesmerizing, and will be emblazoned in your memory for days on end, if not very much longer.” – Jamsphere

“Catchy, Haunting, Artsy rock” – New York Music Daily

“One of the most enjoyable folk pop duos NYC has to offer” – Deli Magazine

CD Release Show & New Video!

Hey guys,

Our EP release is coming up on April 16th! We’re really excited to share it with you and we’ll be celebrating with a free show on Friday, April 19th at The Sidewalk Cafe in NYC.  Come join us!

The-Escape-Release-Show

In case you missed it we also recently released a new video for “Where Have you Gone,” the first track from the new CD.  You can watch it here: http://youtu.be/eyMgnzsdzs0

We lucked out and found an amazing videographer on craigslist, Costa Boutsikaris.  WE LOVE CRAIGSLIST!  It was the easiest, most laid-back shoot we’ve had so far, we just rolled out of bed and headed over to a park near our house in Beacon, NY. Lucky for us we live in a really interesting, beautiful place and there’s an old abandoned garment factory and old railroad tracks in the park…perfect location for moody music videos.  So we just wandered around and somehow Costa turned it into a great video 🙂

PAC House Theater March 15th

PAChouse2

We’re playing our first show in New Rochelle on Friday, March 15th.  I grew up just down the road in Pelham and was under the impression that there was no live music happening anywhere in the immediate vicinity…but it looks like the times are a changin’.  If you live in the area this is an excellent opportunity to support local arts – The PAC House Theater is located in the historic Parish House adjacent to Trinity St. Paul’s Church and the producer, Eric Woodlin, has been using the space to showcase comedy, cabaret, children’s productions, plays and visual art shows.  If you live in the city, New Rochelle is only 25 minutes on the metro north and there’s free parking!

Tickets are $10 in advance at smarttix.com and $18 at the door (so grab them ahead of time!)
